East Side French Bakery Adding New Location with Tea Room and French Market – 614NOW

Since French bakery Le Vieux Lyon opened in Reynoldsburg in 2019, its modest interior — with only a handful of seats — has barely been able to keep up with customer demand, according to Mohammed Halaoui, owner of the bakery in alongside his wife, Manira Camara.

And now they are ready to do something about it.

According to Halaoui, Le Vieux Lyon is currently undergoing expansion, with plans to move into a new storefront that will not only add dining space, but also a whole new concept.

Currently located at 1774 Brice Rd., the bakery will soon move to 1792 Brice Rd., another much larger building on the same plaza it currently occupies.

“Our bakery is the first French bakery in Reynoldsburg,” Halaoui said. “As we know where we are, we didn’t want to have to travel through the city.”

Not only will the new location include more room for in-person dining, and even a small market selling French products, Halaoui said it will also include a new concept in the form of a French tea house, known as the tea room name.

“It will have that homey feel and feel like you’re in your living room at home sitting and drinking tea,” Halaoui said. “With plenty of space to sit and comfortable chairs.”

Camara and Halaoui don’t have an exact opening date in mind yet, as they are currently awaiting city approval, but the new location will likely open later this year.
