The French Market restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland serves up a new parfait: a pirate p-arrr-made, that is.

Vanilla rum baba, vanilla-pineapple compote, rum mousse and assorted decorations
It was absolutely delicious. The rum baba is a dish we had never tried before and we are addicted. It’s almost like a bun but softer and soaked in vanilla rum syrup. Not real rum, but cooked or flavored rum syrup.
At the top, a rum mousse which, although it didn’t taste like rum, was still very pleasant and went well with the baba. Decorations on top included a beach on the water, sprinkled with chocolate gold sprinkles, and an X marking the spot with a white chocolate pirate Mickey flag.
It all worked together resulting in a well-balanced dish that was just sweet enough without being overpowering. It will be perfect as a dessert at the end of a meal or as a stand-alone delicacy.
